Buttermilk Cayenne Onion Rings

Ingredients
 

2 each large sweet onions
1 (vidalias are fine)
1 each egg yolk
1 cup flour
1 tbsp cayenne powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 1/4 tsp salt
2 cup buttermilk
1 vegetable oil
1 for deep-frying

Preparation
 
Slice onions into thin rings. Combine egg yolk, flour, cayenne, baking
soda, salt and buttermilk. Mix well. Dip rings into batter and coat
thoroughly. Heat oil to 375 degrees; when hot, add rings and fry for
4 to 5 minutes, until lightly browned. Remove with a slotted spoon
and drain on paper towels.

Buttermilk Honey Bread
