Ham And Bean Soup with Vegetables

Ingredients
1poundnavy beans, dried, soaked
1eachhot pepper
1eachcarrot, sliced
1salt, to taste
1pepper, to taste
4cupwater
1eachham, butt, 2-3 lb
1eachonion, sliced
1eachpeas, frozen, package
2eachgarlic, cloves
1eachbell pepper, green, cut into strips
1/2eachcabbage, small, shredded

Directions:

Place all ingredients except frozen vegetables and cabbage in crockpot. Cover and cook on Low 12 to 18 hours. Turn to High and remove ham. Add peas, limas and cabbage. Cook for 1 to 2 hours on High or until vegetables are tender.

Serve large bowls of this thick soup with crusty French bread.
